Damn. It is great when a video can take a song that I am already in love with and make me love it even more.

While interneting today I discovered that the world lost Racheal Anilyse back in November of 2011.
Racheal started Underground Art School Magazine and was a contributor for Pikaland for a while. She was a talented and passionate young illustrator who loved hand-drawn typography. I had the chance to work with her on a few projects back in 2009-2010. She invited me to be in the Sketchbook Edition of UAS Magazine and asked if she could showcase some of the Post-it note doodles from my sketchbook. She was also gracious enough to create an illustration (diamond mouth pictured above) for my short-lived zine called Smile You’re Not Dead.
My thoughts go out to her family and friends.
This is a cool cover of The Weeknd by Eliza Doolittle. Kinda reminded me of the original City of Music videos.
New shirts available at MaybeSo Products with The Many Face Of illustration I did. Get em get em!
Dana Tanamachi has been all over the typography & design blogs lately for her amazing chalk drawings. Check out this time-lapse video to see how much time and detail she puts in to these beautiful pieces. Makes me want to draw all day long.
Here is this week’s City of Music video for Big Quarters. Check it out.
In case you missed it earlier this week, here are the visuals for one of John Jodzio’s stories from Get In If You Want To Live.
Solid Gold covers The Beatles for the MN Beatle Project 3 and this weeks City of Music.
